A Birthday on the Side of the Road
Today is my birthday.
But I am not in a warm home. I am not resting in a soft bed. I am sitting alone on the street, looking up with tired eyes, hoping someone will stop for me.
The ground is cold beneath my little body, and the world feels too big for a dog with no place to go.
No Family Came for Me
I do not have anyone waiting for me.
No kind arms reached down to carry me. No familiar voice called me close. No one came to tell me I mattered.
I kept sitting there, quiet and still, watching people pass, wishing that just one of them would see more than a small stray dog.
A Little Dog With a Heavy Heart
I am small, but my sadness feels so big.
My eyes keep searching. My ears lift at every sound. For a moment, I always hope it is someone coming for me.
But each time, the street stays the same, and I am still alone.
All I Wanted Was a Little Love
I did not wish for much on my birthday.
Just a little food. A safe place to sleep. A gentle hand on my head. Someone to make me feel like I belonged somewhere.
Instead, I stayed on the street with no family, no shelter, and no love to warm my heart.
Still Waiting to Be Chosen
Even so, I keep waiting.
Maybe one kind person will stop. Maybe one loving heart will see me and understand that birthdays should not be spent alone on the street.
Today is my birthday, and I have no relatives, no home, and no one beside me.
But I am still here, still hoping that before this day ends, someone will choose me.
