A curious cat in Forest, Virginia, found herself in a frightening situation after becoming trapped under a neighbor’s garage door.
According to the Forest Fire Department, the incident happened on Wednesday night, May 6. Firefighters had just responded to a motor vehicle crash when they were alerted to a very different kind of emergency: a cat was stuck in a narrow gap between the garage floor and the bottom of a door.
The space was tight, and the cat could not free herself. What may have started as a curious little adventure quickly became dangerous, as she was pinned in a position that could have caused serious injury if help had not arrived in time.
Firefighters worked quickly and carefully to open the door and release her safely.

Thankfully, the rescue ended well. Once the cat was freed, she wasted no time and immediately ran back home.
The short but tense rescue is a reminder that even ordinary places around a home can become risky for pets. For this lucky cat, quick action from firefighters turned a frightening moment into a safe return home.
