A Birthday With a Heavy Heart
My name is Buddy, and I just turned 6 years old.
I am still a sweet little dog. I still love soft blankets, gentle voices, and quiet moments beside someone who cares. But lately, my health has not been very good.
I try to look cheerful, and sometimes I still wag my tail as if everything is fine. But my body gets tired more easily now. Running is harder than it used to be, and some days, even playing feels like too much.
I May Be Weak, but I Still Have So Much Love
When you see me lying quietly in my cozy bed, please know that I am not ignoring the world.
I am just resting.
My little body needs more care now, but my heart is still full. I still feel happiness when someone sits beside me. I still feel comfort when a gentle hand touches my head.
Every pat, every smile, every soft word makes my day a little brighter.
Your Kindness Is My Best Medicine
I may not be able to chase a ball for long or go on big walks anymore, but I can still give love in my own way.
I can rest my head near you.
I can look at you with grateful eyes.
I can stay close and remind you that even a tired little dog has a heart full of loyalty.
A hug, a scratch behind my ears, or a few quiet minutes beside me means more than you know.
Please Don’t Forget a Dog Like Me
I am not asking for much.
I only need patience, kindness, and a little love on the days when my body feels weak. I may be small. I may be tired. But I still want to feel safe, cherished, and remembered.
Thank you for seeing me.
Thank you for caring.
And thank you for being a friend to a poor little dog like me.
