The little puppy was only seven months old.
She had fluffy white-and-brown fur, soft ears, and a tiny tail that wagged whenever someone smiled at her.
She believed every car ride meant another adventure.
That afternoon, she happily sat beside a woman inside a moving car, looking out the window with excitement.
She had no idea her life was about to change forever.
The car slowed to the side of a quiet road.
The woman opened the door.
The little puppy eagerly jumped down, expecting the woman to follow.
Instead, the woman quickly got back into the car.
Before the puppy could understand what was happening, the door slammed shut.

The car pulled away.
Startled, the puppy tried to follow, but stumbled and fell onto the rough pavement.
She rolled across the roadside before coming to a stop.
For a few moments, she lay still, frightened and confused.
When she finally lifted her head, tears filled her eyes.
She tried to stand.
Her little legs trembled beneath her.
She managed only a few unsteady steps before her strength gave out, and she slowly sank back onto the ground.
She let out a soft cry that echoed along the empty road.
Then she looked up at the sky.
As if she were asking a question no one could answer.
“Did I do something wrong?”
Cars passed by.
People hurried on with their day.
Very few noticed the tiny puppy lying quietly at the edge of the road.
The afternoon sun slowly faded behind the clouds.
The little puppy remained there, weak and frightened, still watching every passing car.
Deep inside, she hoped one of them would be the one that came back for her.
But none did.
Just before evening, a woman returning home from work noticed the puppy lying alone.
She immediately stopped her bicycle and hurried over.
The little dog looked up with tired eyes.
Even after everything she had been through, her tiny tail moved ever so slightly.
The woman knelt beside her.
“It’s all right,” she whispered gently.
“You’re not alone anymore.”

She carefully wrapped the puppy in a warm blanket and carried her to a nearby veterinary clinic.
The veterinarian examined her and treated her injuries.
Over the following days, the puppy slowly regained her strength.
At first she was afraid whenever she heard a car door close.
She would quietly lower her head and tremble.
But every morning, the woman returned to visit her.
She brought soft food.
A warm blanket.
Gentle words.
Little by little, the fear faded.
The puppy began wagging her tail again.
A few weeks later, the woman completed the adoption papers.
Before leaving the clinic, she clipped a small pink collar around the puppy’s neck and smiled.
“You’ve waited long enough.”
“Let’s go home.”
The little white-and-brown puppy looked up at her with shining eyes.
This time, when she climbed into the car, she wasn’t afraid.
Because for the first time in her life, she knew the journey wouldn’t end with being left behind.
It would end with a family that would never let her go.
