Luna’s quiet day near a golf course turned into a frightening rescue.
The dog had become trapped in a pond at Westminster Golf Course in Colorado, stuck in deep water with no safe way to get out on her own. From the edge, the situation looked risky. The depth of the pond was unknown, and it was too dangerous for anyone to simply jump in after her.
So help came carefully.

Westminster Police Department’s Animal Management Officer Wood responded to the scene after reports came in about the stranded dog. Luna was still in the water, frightened and unable to free herself. The goal was simple: get her close enough to the edge without putting her or the rescuers in more danger.
Officer Wood used treats to gently lure Luna toward the side of the pond.

Step by step, the scared dog came closer.
Then, using a leash and a towel, the officer carefully lifted her out of the water and brought her back to safety.
Thankfully, Luna was not injured.
After her unexpected pond adventure, she was reunited with her family — wet, shaken, but safe.

Her rescue was not dramatic because of flashing danger or a massive operation. It was powerful because someone answered the call, stayed calm, and treated one frightened dog’s life as worth every bit of care.
Luna may not have made par that day.
But thanks to the officers who came for her, she made it home.
